I’m going to Fiji next month. Am I better off investing in a digital underwater camera, or buying a bunch of disposable underwater cameras?

So I’m going to the Great Barrier Reef in a few weeks for scuba diving and snorkeling, and I really want something so that I can take my camera with me snorkeling.

And I can’t afford a new camera that happens to work underwater. Mine wasn’t cheap, so I would like to take it with me if possible.

I have the Casio Exilim S880, and no underwater housings are made specifically for it. I’ve found things like this: http://store.thewaterproofstore.com/minicamera.html
but I’m afraid they aren’t going to be very effective. Plus, since it’s not a Casio product, the warentee wouldn’t cover it if something were to happen.

Is there any alternative, or does anybody know of a good case that works with slim digital cameras? Is the link I have a good choice?

it’s a high res jobbie designed for underwater use, ( the Fuji fine pix F30 )how many pics can I expect to be able to put onto a 500Gb external hard drive?

Hi! im planning to buy my own digital camera this month but im really confused.. my first choice was to buy an olympus underwater camera bec i really love the scenes down there. but then my friend told me that olympus cameras are so over and unreliable.. can you guys suggest anything? how about a sony or canon cam? and what model? thanks in advance! happy 2009!

as an added detail: i want a cam that can capture that slightest motion of the image and its true color and not make it blurred.. i know the canon D40 can do that but i think its to bulky and big ;p i want a cam that can fit into my hand bag. thanks again.

if i just put my camera in a ziplockbag, would i be able to take a pic underwater? cause i saw some pics that people have taken of their family underwater, and think that would be awesome. and i really don’t want to pay a huge price for a underwatercamera
