I’ve been doing a lot of research on cameras to bring to Costa Rica, I’m quite indecisive, so I’ve come to you guys for help

Here’s my dilemma, I have my mom’s camera (~we bought it for 0 on last year’s black friday):

I’m not sure what I’ll be doing in Costa Rica, it’s a study abroad for a biology/ecology credit (free of charge)

With the D10 I’ll be able to take some nice underwater pictures + land pictures (or at least from the reviews) but I’ll be down 7…

should I buy that camera, keep my mom’s, or look for a better, high-zoom camera? e.g.

Oh yeah, since I already have the powershot D10 (waterproof/shock proof) i’d have to return it

i’m not looking for a really expensive one but i do want the quality of the photo’s to be good. I don’t want to get an SLR just yet. I want the depth that it can go underwater to be about 5m. I would like feedback from people that have a camera like this or that have used a camera like this. : ) thank you

I purchased a Mayhem outdoor underwater digital camera but the instructions are in Spanish. I would like to get the instructions in English or French.

im looking to buy a decent camera thats not hundreds of dollars and the flip really cought my eye. does it work a long time? is it worth the money or should i just get a regular digital camera?does the underwater case really work? what place should i buy from? and any other info would be helpful.

I am looking for an everyday point and shoot digital camera that can fit in my pocket and withstand some water. Olympus Stylus Tough series seems great except all reviews say photos are not sharp and are too soft. Canon D10 says photo quality is great but camera is big and ugly. Any first hand suggestions? I would like to keep the price under 0. I am currently using a Canon G9 as my daily camera but want something smaller.

So I have this camera, Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP Waterproof Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch LCD. It says its waterproof up to 33 feet. My mother said that I need to buy a case for it to go underwater since I might ruin it. But, I don’t think so because its made to go underwater. But, I don’t want to risk it. Please help!
